Kris Hansen is a unique person — she should be elected

I met Kris Hansen in combat in

2007. She immediately impressed me with her direct manner and genuine interest in people.

We were both assigned to serve under an Army aviation unit in Iraq.

However, Kris was assigned to an active Army unit as an individual volunteer for combat from a non-deploying Montana National Guard unit. This surprised me — not many people choose to go into combat with a new team; but, I soon learned, Kris was unique in many ways.
