Festival of Trees set for Friday night

Festival of Trees set for tonight

Zach White

There's been a month of preparation. Now it is time for the fun part.

The Festival of Trees holiday social event and fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line is happening at the Holiday Village Mall today.

First, there is an open house at the mall for anyone who wants to preview the evening's centerpieces, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Then sponsors of the event get a 45-minute window, from 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in which they get some VIP treatment with hors d'œuvres and beverages.

Ticket holders will be invited in at 6:30 p.m., to participate throughout the evening in many auctions, including a live auction, a silent auction and a special auction to raise money specifically for an update to the Boys & Girl Club kitchen, so they can better comply with new food regulations, for the club to serve kids healthier foods.

There will also be dancing, eating and drinking at the mall event.

There were initially only 250 tickets to the event and nearly every one has been sold. Anyone can still attend the event without tickets, paying the $25 admission at the door.
