d, and showed continuous improvement during the season. And Saturday in Livingston, running in the Central A divisional meet, the Ponies hard work paid off. The HHS girls earned the conference title with 41 points and the HHS boys grabbed the No. 4 finish with 89 points. The HHS boys finished just behind Browning with 84, Belgrade with 46 and No. 1 Livingston with 34.

"It was a good weekend for both teams," Havre High head coach Kyle Fisher said. "With the division as tough as it is for the boys and being able to do as well as they did was definitely a positive for them. And having the girls win their first Central A title since 2005 was great. It was just a great weekend for Havre High cross country."

And to add to the good performance this weekend, both HHS squads will also get a chance to compete for a state title. And the Ponies also had five runners earn Central A All-Conference honors on Saturday. Garrett Aguillard was the No. 6 runner overall on the boys side with a time of 16:41 and Marc Klimas was the No. 8 runner overall with a time of 16:52. Jess Wiken, Trisha Kinsella and Katie Christianson also earned All-Conference honors for the HHS girls. Wiken was the No. 2 runner overall with a time of 20:00, while Kinsella was the No. 7 runner overall with a time of 20:31 and Christianson was the No. 9 runner overall with a time of 21:06.

"Five out of 20," Fisher said. "That is a pretty good weekend for us. It was a great weekend out of them, the times from all of the teams there were a little bit slower because of the course, but our kids still turned in great times."

The other HHS girls really stepped up as well, as they helped earn the conference title. Larissa Price was the No. 11 runner overall with a time of 21:23, Ashlynn Van Voast was the No. 12 runner overall with a time of 21:23, Chanal Standing Rock was the No. 19 runner overall with a time of 21:46 and Mikell Kinsella was the No. 21 runner overall with a time of 22:01.

"We just have a good core of girls," Fisher said. "Our pack time wasn't as fast as it has been this season because we started out a little slow. But it just showed the depth of the team and the quality of the team when they were still able to win even though it wasn't on of their best days of running this year."

The HHS boys did a great job as well. Behind Aguillard and Klimas, Dolan Tuss was the No. 20 runner with a time of 17:59, while Derek VanDessel was the No. 25 runner with a time of 28:21, Desmond Fialkosky was the No. 30 runner with a time of 18:30, Dylan Stewart was the No. 31 runner with a time of 18:46 and Dillon Seely was the No. 35 runner with a time of 19:31.

Nick Rhines was an alternate for the Ponies and ran a 19:24 for the No. 12 spot overall in the junior varsity race. And Shelby O'Neil ran a 22:12 as the girls alternate team for the No. 2 spot overall, while Kianna Robertson ran a 22:57 for the No. 5 spot overall.

"It was just a good weekend for us all around," Fisher said. "Anytime you can get a conference title is huge and then to have five all conference kids, it was just a great weekend for us. Everyone ran well."

Saturday the Ponies will finish their season when they compete at the Class A state meet in Missoula.
