HHS golfers back in action

The Havre High School golf teams will have plenty of time on the links this week. Starting today, Blue Pony golfers will be in action in Great Falls and Lewistown.

The Blue Pony boys are headed to the Class AA Great Falls Invitational which gets under way today. The tournament is a 36-hole event with one day being played at Meadowlark Country Club and the second day at Eagle Falls Golf Course.

The Great Falls Invite is arguably the toughest tournament in Montana high school golf, so only the Pony boys varsity team will be in action. The HHS team in Great Falls is composed of Trey Brown, Simon McCann, Ramsey Drew, Sam Lippy and David Denny.

Meanwhile, the Pony girls and a host of junior varsity players will be in action today at Judith Shadows Golf Club in Lewistown. The tournament will feature the host Golden Eagles, the Blue Ponies and Browning. Representing the HHS girls will be Katie Beck, Niki Gabrielson, Boston Swenson, Samantha French and Dani Murphy. The Ponies will also send Spencer Morkrid, Miguel Ley, Chance Pitkanen, Trey Scofield and Michael Bakke to the 18-hole Lewistown Meet.

The Pony golf teams will also be in action on Friday at the Browning Invitational at the East Glacier Lodge Golf Course.
