The Havre High golf teams have a busy four weeks ahead. And its starts this weekend for the Blue Pony squads.
On Friday, the Blue Ponies will take to the Pine Meadows Golf Club in Lewistown for the Lewistown Invitational, one day ahead of Saturday's Havre Invitational, which is scheduled to be played at Beaver Creek Golf Course.
Friday's meet in Lewistown will feature the host Golden Eagles, as well as teams from Browning and Livingston. This will be the Ponies' first look at the Rangers this season.
Havre is coming off two successful trips to East Glacier Golf Course outside of Browning. This past weekend, both the Pony boys and girls teams finished first at the Browning Invitational at East Glacier, and Havre has won two straight Browning meets on the girls side. Individually, the Pony girls are getting consistent play from veterans Boston Swensen, Katie Beck and Dani Murphy, while freshmen Peyton Howard and Randi Gabrielsen are also improving.
On the boys side, the Ponies are being led by a pair of freshman in Jeff Miller and Jerod Boles, and with seniors Ramsey Drew, Spencer Ross and David Denny also scoring well, HHS's boys team is turning into a Central A power.
Friday's meet in Lewistown will feature a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. The Havre Invite will be held Saturday morning at BCGC.
