Marjorie "Winnie" Daniels, 77, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at her home in Alliance, Neb., with her family by her side.
She was born Oct. 10, 1934 in Bishop's Stortford, England, to Cecil and Elsie (Joy) Byford.
She met Duane Daniels in 1957, while he was stationed in England with the U. S. Army. In 1960 she immigrated to the United States.
She and Duane were united in marriage on March 1, 1961, in Livingston, Mont. They lived in Montana, where Winnie worked on a dude ranch and held a banking position before she began working for the railroad in 1965. The family moved to Alliance in 1979 and Winnie continued with the railroad until retiring after 30 years of service.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Paula Daniels of Denver, Colo., and her children, Daniel and Stephen Grahek, Dana and Liz Daniels of Alliance, and their children, Stephanie and Madison, and Rhonda and Chuck Dentler of Guernsey, Wyo., and their children, Nicole and Cody and great-grandson, Jackson Otero. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Middleton of England; aunts; an uncle; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also survived by her sister-in-law, Karen Grimm of Billings, Mont. ; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clair and Dixie Daniels of St. Ignatius, Mont.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her grandson, Colin Dentler.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 10 a. m. at the United Methodist Church in Alliance, with Jeanie Sedivy officiating. Interment will be in the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery at Alliance.
