Gabriel Louis Champagne

Gabriel Louis Champagne, born April 20, 1931, joined his loved ones on April 1, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Philomina Champagne; brothers, Buddy, Walter, Gibbons, Buster, Raymond, David and Johnny Champagne; sisters, Helen Russette, Karen Cochran, Cecilia Swallasin, Clara, Georgie Dewary and Patty Lawrence; son, Clyde Champagne; and daughter, Iris Champagne.

He was survived by his wife of 47 years, Gladys Champagne; sisters, Joy Buttons of Great Falls and Olive Bauer of Havre; brother, Dennis Brough of Spokane, Wash. ; daughters Cynthia Champagne and Gabriela Champagne of Spokane, Wash., Irene Frey and Chris Brown of Butte; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous family and friends.

He was a member

of the armed services, being deployed in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged, receiving several commendations.

He returned home to Havre, and in 1966, he moved his family to Spokane, where he lived out the rest of this life.

Services were at 9 a. m. today at Lutheran Mission Church at Rocky Boy. He will be interred at the Russette family cemetery.
