Pauline Katherine Schwan Laeupple, 83, died Thursday, July 12, 2012, of natural causes at the Care and Comfort Home surrounded by family.

Her rosary will be recited 7 p. m. Monday, July 16, 2012, at Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Her funeral Mass will be 11 a. m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, with Father Daniel Wathen officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in the Calvary Section. A fellowship luncheon will be held at St. Jude Parish Center. Memorial contributions in Pauline's honor may be made to the Rudyard Dinosaur Museum. Services have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.

Pauline was born Aug. 23, 1928, at the family homestead in Goldstone, Mont., to Anton and Julianna Schwan. She educated through eighth grade in the Goldstone school district. She was one of 16 children. Her parents had homesteaded north of Rudyard. Pauline worked at Havre Laundry, Red Lion Supper Club, and retired from Northern Montana Hospital as a cook. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, arts and crafts. Family always came first in Pauline's life. She delighted in decorating her home and lawn with statues and ornaments the year around.

In 1965, Pauline was awarded the Outstanding Den Mother of the Year for the State of Montana. She was a long-standing member of the Eagle's Club and Royal Neighbors of America.

At the age of 22, Pauline married Rolland Christion Laeupple.

Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Julianna Schwan; her husband, Rolland Christion Laeupple; her eldest son, Roland Paul Laeupple; brothers, Andrew Schwan, Jack Schwan, Paul Schwan, Anton Schwan, Frank Schwan, Joseph Schwan, John (Bernard) Schwan; infant brother, Peter Schwan; her sisters, Eva Falla, Mary Hall, Sister Antonita Schwan, Julia Schwan, Tillie Miller, Agatha Sherman and Theresa Hoium.

Pauline is survived by her sons, Dr. Lee (Roxana) Laeupple and Bernard (Monica) Laeupple; daughter, Judy (Craig) Cross, and son Roland's widow: Gayla Laeupple; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Randy) Christofferson, Melissa (Devin) Doyal, Monica (Sheldon) Corner, Breann Cross, K'Dee Laeupple, Kodiak Laeupple, and Juliana Laeupple; two great-grandchildren, Rocky and Mya Corner; and two stepgreat-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
