Local Golf Report: Sign up for breast cancer tournament

The weather couldn't be any better for golf right now, and people are enjoying all area courses in drives so far.With

a surge of warm weather and light conditions, it's excellent for golf

and it's also helping bring courses back to life faster than normal,

though the winter wasn't too hard on grass either.

The

tournament circuit will also be beginning soon, and one of the big ones

on the slate at Prairie Farms Golf Course is the 8th annual Havre Women

Fighting Breast Cancer Tournament. The tourney will be held June 30 at

Prairie and will be a 3-woman, nine-hole scramble. Registration deadline

is June 15 and and entry forms are available at the Prairie Farms Pro

Shop or by calling 262-4362. Any donations to the tourney are also

welcome.

Men's

league is into its third week. At Prairie Farms, last Tuesday saw Korb

Construction earn high-team honors with 24.5 points, while Prairie Farms

scored 25 points to win last Wednesday night.

Thursday

night at Beaver Creek Golf Course saw Tom Haas and Bill Schilling tie

for low gross with a 42. Matt Jensen was low net with a 25. Nalivka's

Pizza was high team with 23.5 points.

PJ's

is in first place heading into week four of men's league at BCGC, with

Standard Nutrition in second, TWRD/CCCC in third and Middletown Car Care

in fourth.

This Thursday marks the opening night of women's league at Prairie Farms, while golf leagues are also underway in Chinook.
