Wayne Parker

Wayne Parker, 48, whose Indian Name was O-Ki-mahw-Pi-Yi-So (Chief Thunderbird) went to be with Our Father and the Creator on Sept. 19, 2012.

His death was due to a brain tumor.

His wake service will begin Thursday night at the Rocky Boy Lutheran Church with his funeral service 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will follow at Rocky Boy Veterans Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.

Wayne was born on May 1, 1964, to the late Raymond Parker Sr. and Merceline LaMere Parker. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Navy in 1984 and was honorably discharged in 1988. Wayne worked as a firefighter, at Hays Catholic School, Rocky Boy School and the Rocky Boy Health Board, and worked for the Rocky Boy Veterans this summer. Wayne loved to watch his daughter Jessica and his nieces and nephews play basketball. He was their number one fan. He never missed a game. He was considered a "Jack of All Trades." Wayne was a very friendly guy who had many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Parker Sr. and his nephew Justin Cole Whitford.

Wayne is survived by his children, Clayton and Jessica Parker, both of Rocky Boy; his mother, Merceline (LaMere) Parker of Rocky Boy; his brothers, Randall (Linda) Parker of Rocky Boy, Ted (Nida) Parker of Rocky Boy, Raymond "Jazz" (Maria) Parker of Rocky Boy, Jayde Parker of Rocky Boy, Raymond (Fawn) Parker Jr. of Rocky Boy; James (Tammy) Houle of Big Sandy, Art Whitford Jr. of Rocky Boy, and Austin Whitford of Rocky Boy; his sisters, Marsha (Mike) Sayer of Pennsylvania, Brenda (Terry) Hollis of California, Elizabeth (Arthur) Whitford of Rocky Boy, Mary Jane (Leonard) Small of Rocky Boy, Jennifer (Ryan) Windy Boy of Rocky Boy, Courtney Small of Rocky Boy, Diane (Bob) Swan of Rocky Boy, and Tracy Parker of Rocky Boy. He is also survived by 19 nieces and 19 nephews. Wayne had two special nieces, Brandi and Erin Buffalo, that he would do anything for, and two very special nephews, Christopher Wolfchief and Arthur Ryan Windy Boy Jr. Arthur Windy Boy Jr. was his best friend.
