Stanley Gene Corp
Stanley Gene Corp, 79, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012. Stanley was born in Los Angeles, Calif., to Maury and Velva Corp, where he grew up and attended Pierce Agricultural College before enlisting in the Air Force.
After he was discharged from the Air Force in 1954, he worked numerous jobs for the federal government before landing in his primary profession, meteorologist for the National Weather Service.
Stan married Janette Luise Mueller on Jan. 4, 1964. Stan and Janette lived in San Francisco, Calif., Glasgow, Mont., Santa Maria, Calif., and Salt Lake City, Utah, before settling in Havre with their three children, John, Debra and Jenifer.
In Havre, Stan worked for the weather service, and also refereed basketball and umpired baseball. He loved living in Montana, as it allowed him to pursue his many passions, including hunting, fishing and camping, and helping out at a local ranch with his friends.
Stan and Janette moved to Ely, Nev., in 1988 for a number of years, before making Sparks, Nev., their final home. They enjoyed taking drives and travelling to see their children and grandchildren in Montana and Texas. Stan's greatest joy was spending time with his two granddaughters, Ashley and Casey, and grandson, Keifer. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his many stories about hunting and fishing.
Stan was preceded in death by his sister and her husband, Betty and Bob Graves; and his parents.
Stan is survived by his wife, Janette Corp of Sparks, Nev. ; son, John Corp, and his wife, Kelly, of Deport, Texas; daughters, Debra Corp of Sparks, Nev. ; daughter, Jenifer Corp and her husband, Matt Trebesch, of Whitefish, Mont. ; granddaughters, Ashley Corp and Casey Corp, and grandson, Keifer Williams, all of Texas; and his nephews, Jim and Gary Shallcross, and Jim's wife, Andrea, and Gary's partner, Tom Donald.
No services are planned but the family will celebrate Stan's life and memory in Montana this fall. Condolences can be sent to PO Box 51452, Sparks, NV, 89435.
