Breaking Sports: MSU-N matmen come up short against North Idaho

It wasn't the season debut the 12th-ranked Montana State-Northern wrestling team was hoping for. On Friday night, in the wrestling room at the Armory Gymnasium, the Lights lost their season-opening dual, 25-18 to the North Idaho Cardinals. North Idaho is one of the top-ranked NJCAA programs in the country, and the Cardinals won key lower-weight matches, while the Lights also gave a forfeit at 133 pounds.

Northern did get wins from Ethan Hinebauch at 165 pounds, Kody Reed at 184, Toby Cheff at 197 and Tucker Erickson at heavyweight. The Lights ar eback in action next weekend in Woming.
