Breaking Sports: Pioneers beat Lone Peak to advance in Six-Man playoffs

Big Sandy's Jessey Bailey (ball) plows ahead during Friday night's Six-Man playoff game in Big Sandy.

For much of this season, the Big Sandy Pioneer offense has been nearly unstoppable. But in the opening round of the 2012 Six-Man playoffs, the Pioneer defense shined. Friday night in Big Sandy, the Pioneers held the Lone Peak Bighorns to just eight points in a 39-8 win, which allowed the Pioneers to advance to next week's quarterfinals.

Big Sandy (8-1), the No. 2 seed out of the North Division, will either travel to Westby or host Custer in next Saturday's quarterfinals. Those two teams square off Saturday afternoon.
