Edith Mae Wavrick

Edith Mae Wavrick of Havre and Bigfork area died at age 94 on May 10, 2013.

Edith was born May 17, 1918, at home in the Lone Tree Bench area of the Bear Paw Mountains near the Missouri River. Two sisters and five brothers were part of her life. Burial will be at the Alice Nash Memorial Cemetery on Lone Tree Bench. Part of her mother's wedding dress was used at the start of this burial place for a lining in a child's handmade casket, many years ago.

She and Steve Wavrick had three children. Carol preceded her in death Oct. 15, 1979. Steve, her husband, Jan. 5, 1998, and her son, Leonard, June 18, 2005. Shirley Mitchell resides in the Kalispell area where Edith has been the past four years at Heritage Place.

Steve and Edith started out in the Lone Tree Bench area, later in the Kalispell area, then back to Raglan Bench, then back to Havre. Edith was dearly loved by all, including six grandchildren and other great-grandchildren. Relatives were given a place in her loving arms and home.

She sewed ever so many clothes for all ages and sizes — school clothes, western, wedding — knit and crochet items, special cakes, gifts of rosemal, stained glass, quilts, and more. She shared her country loving meals with family and friends. Her other kitchen for 24 years was at the college in Havre. She made many friends there.

She had a love for people in need. With her talents, she embellished dolls, given out for children in December in Havre. She mended and sewed for the seniors in the rest home, made bibs for the babies' program, and helped in her church with meals for whatever cause. One can't give an adequate memorial to this wonderful mother, grandmother and friend.
