The Montana State University-Northern wrestling team got some revenge on Thursday night in Powell, Wyo., even after forfeiting a pair of weight classes.
The No. 4 Lights avenged an early-season home loss to Northwest College by beating the Trappers 27-19 Thursday night. Northern overcame a long trip just a few hours after Wednesday night's dominating win over Western Wyoming in Havre.
The Lights gave up forfeits at 141 and 275 pounds, but got a huge win from fifth-ranked Aaron LaFarge at 125 to start the dual. Cameron Neiss came up big as well, as both he and LaFarge earned one-point decisions.
Like on Wednesday night, the Lights also dominated Thursday's dual in the upper weights. Ethan Hinebauch (165), Kody Reed (184) and Toby Cheff (197) all won by pin, while Max Payne earned a 8-4 decision at 174.
The Lights remain on the road for the Dickinson State Open Saturday in Dickinson, N.D.
