Thanks to Havre Daily News, George Ferguson

Editor:

With each season's sporting events Havre Daily News Sports Editor George Ferguson keeps sports enthusiasts up to date on the current activities on the Hi-Line. This fall, winter and spring, I have enjoyed reading and look forward to reading future sports columns written by George Ferguson covering Hi-Line and Havre student athletes.

George has done a great job in community awareness by informing us about upcoming events and the results of events. His winter articles congratulating Montana State University-Northern's wrestling program, MSU-N capital campaign articles promote MSU-N sports make each of us proud to have not only an excellent scholastic but a sports-active university in our community.

To the MSU-N wrestlers, congratulations on your matches during the season and a great show at the NAIA finals. Next year you have a lot to look forward to.

I note that George needs to be thanked for keeping our community informed about athletes from our community who have done an exceptional job in their sports ventures at other universities.

Many of our athletes are products of the Havre and Hi-Line area's excellent coaching staffs.

As a grandparent of high school athletes, I congratulate you in the great job you have done promoting our young people in the various sports that each of them put many hours into and encouraging them to continue participating in the sports they love.

George not only writes for the Havre Daily News but contributes as a coach in high school sports and participates in various adult sports offerings in the Havre community.

What better employee could the Havre Daily News have to cover events that Havre Daily News readers want to see in a local newspaper? George, it is your input that keeps many of us interested in the sporting events that take place in our community.

Hats off to George, the Havre Daily News Sports Department and photography staff.
