Ice Hawks win four at home

The Havre Ice Hawks high school hockey team's season is starting to wind down, and the Ice hawks got in plenty of ice time over the weekend. Havre played four games on its home ice this past weekend, going 4-0 against the visiting Salmon Rapids.

On Friday night in the Havre Ice Dome, the Ice Hawks beat the Rapids 8-0, with goalie Josh Emge and the Ice Hawk defense pitching a shutout. Emge had 11 saves.

Offensively, the Ice Hawks got two goals from Nick Howell, including a power-play goal, and both coming on assists from Jon Stoner, while Ned Malone, also scored twice, including a power-play goal. Trevor Jensen added a pair of goals on Dustin Armstrong assists, while Caleb McLain had a goal and an assists and Brandon Huntington and Howell also had assists.

Havre had a tougher time with the Rapids on Saturday morning, but the Ice Hawks prevailed 2-1. Emge stopped 12 shots while the Havre offense put up 42 on Salmon. Dustin Armstrong scored a short-hander for the Ice Hawks, while Alex Hanson scored on an assist from Caleb McLain.

The Ice Hawks then beat the Rapids 3-1 Saturday night. Brandon Huntington put two pucks in the back of the net for Havre, while Alex Hanson scored on a power-play goal. Dane Linquist had two assists in the win, while Dustin Armstrong and Justin Miller had assists as well.

Havre made it 4-for-4 Sunday morning as the Ice Hawks turned away the rapids 5-3. Emge had 19 stops in the finale, while Havre's offense put 49 shots on goal.

Alex Hanson and Nick Howell netted power-play goals for the Ice Hawks, while Kyle Konesky, Caleb McLain and Dustin Armstrong each scored once. Trevor Jensen and Brandon Huntington each had two assists in the win, while Konesky, Armstrong, Huntington and Linquist also assisted goals.

Havre will return to league play against the Helena Bighorns Saturday and Sunday in Helena.
