MSU-N Cowboy Christmas set for Saturday

Montana State University-Northern’s rodeo team will be hosting a fundraiser event titled “Cowboy Christmas.”

This will be held at the MSU-Northern Armory Gymnasium Saturday at 5 p.m.

Doug Kallenberger, head coach of the rodeo team said a prime rib and shrimp dinner “with all the fixings” will be served at the Cowboy Christmas.

Various door prizes will be given throughout the event, which include a trip to the Pro Rodeo Circuit Finals that will be held in January.

Kallenberger said that the tickets to the event will also act as raffle tickets.

“That automatically puts them in for a bunch of door prizes,” he said.

A live auction, a silent auction, and giveaways will take place throughout the night and live music will be provided. Additionally, raffle tickets and roses will be available for purchase at the event.

Various games such as bingo and blackjack will be set up at the event as well, and participants can play most of the games for a small fee.

Kallenberger said the money raised at this event will be used toward team expenses.

“We use the money for scholarships, for travel and for our livestock and feed,” he said.

Kallenberger added that this is his third year as the head coach of the rodeo team and that he enjoys watching his team members progress throughout the years.

“I just love hanging out with the kids, more than anything else — just watching the kids learn and grow and become better athletes and better people,” he said.

Tickets for the Saturday event are $35 for a single ticket, $60 for 2 and $240 for a table of six.

Tickets are available for purchase at Normans Ranch and Sportswear, Independence Bank, Stockman Bank or from any MSU-N rodeo team member.
