Our View: Hi-Line darts and laurels

Laurel — Welcome to Missouri Valley offensive coordinator Aaron Christensen who will be Montana State University-Northern's head football coach. It's a great football town, coach. And few towns support the local college like we do. Best of luck.

Laurel — Havreite Mike Zook told the story of how he and his wife adopted their two daughters. It was a touching story,. There is a need for more adoption in this country and this world. We laud Zook for coming forward with the story and hope it prompts others considering adoption to take the plunge.

Laurel — Often college freshmen don't know what to expect when they go away from home for the first time. There are new roommates, new classes, college professors, the nightlife, the whole social scene. Montana State University-Northern has launched a program that invites high school students to meet Havre grads who are freshmen in college. Freshmen themselves are the best ones to tell incoming students what to expect.

Laurel — County officials were sworn in last week and state legislators will assume office later this week. They come in at a time when respect for public officials is at an all-time low. We wish the newcomers well and hope they will live up to the high hopes of the voters.
