Scale association holds meeting, discusses membership increase

Press release

Hill County Scale Association held its annual meeting Jan. 16.

Among the items discussed were recent membership increases and setting of details for their annual work day at the scale, the area’s only public livestock scale.

Membership, which is not mandatory to use the scale, increased by three in 2012. Memberships are lifetime and can be passed to direct family members.

The work day, an important activity for the association which strives each year to maintain and upgrade the facility 4 miles east of Havre, was set for June 4. Plans were made for construction of new gates to better serve the truck drivers and for needed replacement of a few boards and posts that are showing signs of age as well as continuation of upgrades to existing exterior fencing.

To find out more about the scale association, use the scale or become a member, contact scale manager LaVonne Herman at 265-8182.
