Lights announce 2015 Recruiting Class

New Montana State University-Northern head football coach Aaron Christensen announced his first recruiting class of his tenure at Northern on Wednesday afternoon.

On national signing day, the Lights signed 22 new players, including three college transfers and 11 players from the state of Montana.

Among the transfers is Herman Smith, a 6-5, 215-pound quarterback from reigning NCAA Division II national champion Colorado State-Pueblo. Smith is enrolled at Northern and will compete in spring football. Also coming to MSU-N is tight end Brandon Stoutmeyer (6-3, 210) from Hamline University of Minnesota, and defensive lineman Josh Lotzenhiser (6-1, 255) from South Virginia University.

Included in the list of Montana high school signees is Malta All-State linebacker Quintan Boos (6-0, 205) as well as Great Falls CMR offensive lineman Casey Cleveland (6-1, 265). Also joining the Lights from Montana is Trenton Woodward (OL), Three Forks, Ryan Handley (OL), Missoula Hellgate, TRavis Crawford (LB) Missoula Big Sky, Lee Hughes (LB) Big Timber, Trevor Frandsen (DL), Missoula Big Sky, Kyle Watson (FB), Lambert, Jonathan Gragg, LB, MIssoula Hellgate, Alec Wagner (LB), Laurel and Paxton Maki (LB), Belt.

Out of state high school signees include, Nash Soliman (WR), Golden Valley, California, Salesi Koloamatangi (DL), Chandler, Arizona, Elijah Dennison (DL) Enumclaw, Washington, Dylan Schmidt (OL), Lakeside, Washington, Dauntarious Williams (WR), Silver Valley HS, California, Tovati Gasetoto Jr., (LB), Washington H.S., Washington, Nate Loutzenhiser (QB), Sand Point, Idaho and Treajun Foard (CB), Basha High School, Arizona.
