Heather Adkins to lead the 'Neighbor in Need'charge in Havre

Longtime resident and community volunteer Heather Adkins has been hired as the project services director for My Neighbor in Need – Havre.

The program, at the website http://www.myneighborinneed.com, was created by Great Falls resident Dave Snuggs and the website was developed by Tom Penwell of Tom’s Web Designs.

The project allows for anyone to ask for help with a specific need, in a specific city or area whether the need is for themselves or for someone else in their community and allows for anyone in the world to help fulfill that need in a private setting.

“I am thrilled to have Heather as the person leading the charge in Havre.” Snuggs said. “I can teach anyone the computer system, our procedures and how we do what we do … but what I cannot teach someone is how to be passionate, how to be kind and have a caring spirit. Either you have it or you don’t, and Heather most certainly does. She gets what we do but more importantly, she gets why we do it.”

Adkins left her position as real estate loan officer to pursue a new chapter in her life.

“I felt led to give back in a more fulfilling way to our community and working for My Neighbor In Need was an opportunity to do just that,” Adkins said.

Heather currently sits on the Board for the Havre Community Giveaway House and is also a Havre Chamber Ambassador, helping welcome new businesses to the area.

She resides in Havre with her husband, Chris, and their two children, Kinsey and Morgyn. She said the whole family loves to give back by helping to volunteer wherever needed. She delivers food for funerals at her church. Heather also was part of a group that was instrumental in getting the Havre Food Bank painted in just one day.

She said she enjoys hanging out with her family and friends, traveling, even if it is 20 miles to see family., and that she sings with her siblings at church, enjoys camping and talking over a cup of coffee.
