Amazing things on our website

By Rachel Rawn

Havre-Hill County Library Director

If it’s been a while since you’ve checked our website, havrehilllibrary.org, now is a great time to do so. While we have many wonderful books available at the Havre-Hill County Library, we also have some great online services that can be helpful in so many ways. These are all completely free to use, all you need is a Havre-Hill County Library card.

First, we have online motor manuals. These are great because they are updated regularly. We have two subscriptions, one is Chilton Motor Manuals and the other one is called Auto Repair Reference Center. They offer wiring diagrams, maintenance schedules, engine repair and everything else that a motor manual should have.

We also have a subscription to a service called PowerSpeak Languages. This is a great service for learning foreign languages. French, Spanish, German, Mandarin Chinese, and English as a second language are all available. This program offers audio lessons and activities such as memory match.

Of course, we also offer free ebook and audiobook downloads through Montana Library 2 Go. Bestsellers, children’s books, classics, they’re all available right in your home to be downloaded whenever is convenient for you. And if you need any help we are happy to get you started.

We also offer many genealogical services online, including obituaries and census records. HeritageQuest is a great program for discovering the crazy cat ladies of your family lineage, the seedy criminals, or perhaps even the royal blood that runs through your veins. We also have many local obituaries available to be viewed and printed right from your computer.

Last, but certainly not least, we offer many resources for students and researchers. EbscoHost, a database of journal articles, is great for researching term papers, or even just researching on your own. HomeworkMT is a tutoring resource, perfect for students of all ages. Live help can be accessed Sunday through Thursday, from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., but other homework help programs are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. And we also offer practice tests and study guides online, from the GED to the SATs, and even graduate school tests and career tests.

All of these services and more can be accessed from our website, havrehilllibrary.org. If you have any questions or need help, call us at 265-2123. The Havre-Hill County Library website is supported by the John Inman Memorial Fund and the Havre-Hill County Library Foundation. John Inman was always a great help in keeping us up to date and providing genealogy resources to the public. Thank you, John.
