Local Bowling Report: Chinook couple captures mixed doubles tourney

New leaders emerged on the final weekend of the No Tap Mixed Doubles at Hi Line Lanes. Linda and Bob Azure from Chinook, with a score of 1,719 were victorious, winning a $500 first-place prize and jackets donated by Havre Distributors.

Second place went to the team of Alicia Burrington and Ryan Mapes, who led the tournament for the first two weekends with a score of 1,716. Third place with 1,652 was Denise Friede and Kyle Surber. Fourth place was Alicia Burrington and Chris Owens with 1,648. Fifth place is Pam Darrah and Dave Azure, Chinook, with 1,636, followed by Dianne and Doug Watson with a 1,613 and 1a 6,03 for Suener Springer and Shawn Mariani.

Last week, several Havre and Rudyard keglers traveled to El Paso, Texas, to bowl in the U.S.B.C. National Tournament, reports were not very positive. Ryan Mapes led the bowlers with a score of 599, but they all enjoyed the trip.

TOURNEY TRAIL: Hi Line Lanes is having a Men’s Revenge Tournament this weekend with 8-pin strike for men and 9-pin strike for women. The $500 still stands for a 292 game. Please call for reservations 265-5885.

Eagles Lanes in Chinook is hosting a No-Tap Mixed Tournament for three weeks starting March 27. $1,000 is guaranteed for first place. Call 406-357-2329.
