Letter to the Editor: Proud of Havre for its conduct on Havre Pride Day

Editor:

We are thankful for all the help we had for our spring community cleanup this past Saturday. Havre Pride weekend started on Friday with a group of school kids (4- to 5-year-olds) wanting to get in to the act and help.

Thanks to Jen Graham and her energetic group for making the kick off to Havre Pride so much fun. Thanks also to United Way of Hill County for providing them all with shirts and flower seed packets for the morning activity.

It is always great to see people out and about helping clean our parks and byways. As with any project it, takes many helping hands to make it happen. The Havre Pride activity is a communit wide effort to clean up our town. Thank you to everyone who gave some of their morning Saturday to clean up Havre. There were many groups out and about in spite of the chilling windy morning.

The mission of the Havre Pride committee is to have the cleanest town in Montana. And, with everyone helping every day of the year — not just two selected weekends each year — together we can accomplish that mission. The goal is to first get the community members working together to clean up our town, and second, to educate people on the subject of litter and community pride.

Thanks you so very much to everyone who helped.
