From My Neighbor in Need

The website http://www.myneighborinneed.org/havre provides local citizens a way to ask for help from their community and a way for community members to give back to those in need.

If you are in need of help, please contact My Neighbor in Need at 406-301-3919 or go to http://www.myneighborinneed.org.

My Neighbor in Need is not Havre’s Helping Haven — although we share building space with Havre’s Helping Haven, My Neighbor in Need is its own separate non-profit 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization.

My Neighbor in Need is a 24-hour a day/365-days a year, “wish list.” If you are in need or know someone in need please go to our website: http://www.myneighborinneed.org/havre or stop by our office at 419 6th Avenue — across from the Havre Community Pool — Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You may call our office at 406-301-3919.

Current Needs

My Neighbor in Need — A young woman seeking employment is in need of a used and clean queen size bed — with mattress and box spring — for her young daughter and her new baby. Right now she is borrowing her younger brother’s bed until she can get one. The younger brother is without a bed and is sleeping on a couch. If you are able to help in any way, please contact My Neighbor in Need at 406-301-3919. Thank you. The identification number is: 61.

Recently fulfilled need

Dear My Neighbor in Need,

I am a disabled woman living on a very low income, and I am great need of a used/clean/working bariatric collapsible wheelchair with a 24-inch seat. Without this wheelchair, I will have continue to be forced to be homebound as my back is too bad to be able to even walk short distances. I have looked for the proper wheelchair but I cannot afford one. I would appreciate any help you might be able to provide. Thank you.

My Neighbor

in Need Response

We spoke with the Neighbor in Need and verified her situation. We contacted a couple of our nonprofit partners to see if they might have one. However, they did not.

The need request was posted in the Havre Daily News as well as on our website. We then made contact with Community Home Oxygen and they started looking for one. In less than two days, we were notified that a wheelchair was found and it was delivered to the Neighbor in Need.

A You Rock award goes out to everyone who assisted in fulfilling this need.
