Montana Hope Project

By Lori Roberts

Children’s Librarian

On July 15, Montana Highway Patrol will be at the Havre-Hill County Library to read stories during story time at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m..

After story time there will be a free will donation fundraiser called Plunge for Hope. Highway Patrol Officers will take turns sitting in a dunking booth from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3:45 to 5 p.m..

All proceeds will go to the Montana Hope Foundation. This is your opportunity to dunk a patrol officer legally while helping out a child in need. Please join us in a day of fun and laughter.

The Montana Hope Project grants wishes for Montana’s critically ill children. The Montana Hope Project began in 1984 with a handful of officers that wanted to help three critically ill children.

They dug into their own pockets, borrowed a van, and took the kids and their families on a trip to Glacier. To date there have been 409 children who have been given a wish from the Montana Hope Project. Wishes range from getting a play structure built in their backyard to going to Disney World, some even to Hawaii.

All of our programs are open to everyone and free to the public. If you have any questions you can call us at 265-2123.

Library hours are:

• Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
