Justice Brown was sentenced to 100 years in state prison for seriously stabbing three Montana State University-Northern students in May.
A large crowd was on hand in the Hill County Courthouse Thursday afternoon as Judge Daniel Boucher said that his first duty was to protect the public.
Boucher gave Brown 100 years each on three counts and 40 years for a fourth count, but the judge ordered that they run concurrently.
