Boys State applications due Monday

American Legion is reminding Havre High School juniors that applications are due Monday for Montana Boys State/

At Boys State, students become part of the operation of local city, county and state government.

Boys State exposes boys to the rights, privileges, duties and responsibilities of a franchised citizen.  The training is objective and practical where students are elected to various offices, and function in those offices.

  Activities include legislative sessions, court proceedings, law enforcement presentations, assemblies, bands and chorus as well as recreational programs. 

Montana Boys State will run June 4-9 at Carroll College in Helena.

The delegate fee is $300, and Monday is the deadline to apply.

People who want to apply can contact Tom LaFond at 406-301-1194 at or talk to their Havre High School counselor.

Each Boys State program selects two representatives to participate in Boys Nation in Washington.
