Letter to the Editor - The War of 2018

The troops were on display Saturday, Jan. 20. Did you see the Women’s March? Of course, you did. Did you see the March for Life? Not likely. At the heart of both is the issue of abortion. 

Over the past two years Planned Parenthood has doubled it’s profits to nearly $100 million. I’m speaking up for life, for the baby, because he/she has no voice. Since 1973, 60 million babies have been victims. During the time of a crisis pregnancy, women can panic. At those times they seek for an answer. There are clinics where they are told that the answer is easy and quick. But there are clinics and centers where a woman can be honored by being given a “hand up.” She can find a friend, information, testing, clothes for herself and the baby, and much more. A congressman working on the budget explained that money taken from Planned Parenthood would be reassigned to help women’s clinics. We do have a Crisis Pregnancy center in Havre, on First Street across from Town Square.

In 2017 the bill H.R. 7, which prohibits tax dollars to be used for abortion, and bill H.R. 490, which would prohibit abortion on a fetus who has a heartbeat, were passed in the House. These bills get overlooked in the Senate.
