Rocky Boy roads re-opened

Chippewa Cree Business Committee closed roads on Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation at about 2 this morning at the recommendation of the Chippewa Cree Law Enforcement, but re-opened the roads about 7:15, posts on the law enforcement department’s Facebook page said.

A post late last night said road conditions on the reservation were slippery ice-packed roads with snow cover.

People were urged to take precaution while out and drive slower than usual, leaving ahead of time to have enough time to get to their destination safely.

The post announcing the closure said the precautionary measure was in the best interest of the general public until the weather lets up.

About 7:15 a.m. today, the Facebook post said the roads were open and advised people to travel with care.
