LaMere wins Rocky Boy Business Committee special election

With the signed counts posted on the Chippewa Cree Tribe’s website, Jody LaMere has regained her seat on the Chippewa Cree Business Committee on Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation.

The signed election results from Tuesday’s special election shows Lamere received the most votes, 119.

The results give LaMere back the seat she lost to “Big Mike” Corcoran in 2018.

Corcoran, 45, died at his residence of natural causes Jan. 6. Tuesday’s special election was held to fill his seat.

The votes received by the other candidates are, 107 for Lone Whitford-Taylor; 104 for Emery “Paco” Nault; 81 for state Rep. Jonathan Windyboy, D-Box Elder; 79 for Melvin “Junior” Morsette; 70 for Brandon T. Gopher; 67 for Daryl Wright II; 42 for Josh Seaton; 40 for JR Rosette; 37 for Ted Parker; 30 for Chelsey St. Pierre; 29 for Ken St. Marks; 28 for Harriet Standing Rock; 26 for Laurie A. Sunchild; 24 for Mike Geboe; 24 for William Sonny Boy St. Marks; 20 for Duane M. Gopher; 18 for George Henderson Sr .; 14 for Pete T. LaMere; 13 for Florencine “Dixie” Stump; 11 for Paulette Standing Rock; eight for Tim Koop Sr., and seven for Cody Rivas Sr.
