Havre Police Department

Robert Scott Shellenbarger, a homeless man from Oregon, 29, was arrested on a charge of violation of protective order, after a caller at a First Street West caller reported suspicious activity Wednesday at 11:48 a.m.


A 14th Street caller asked Wednesday at 3:21 p.m. to speak with an officer about a neighbor's dog killing the caller's rabbits.


A hit and run crash involving a red truck and a white Pontiac was reported Wednesday at 5:16 p.m. at a First Street business.


Officers investigated a Wednesday 6:12 p.m. report of stolen campaign flags on Sixth Street.


A potential breaking and entering was reported at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday on Third Avenue.


William Joe Skidmore of Havre, 39, was arrested on a charge of assault after an officer initiated at 8:16 p.m. Wednesday at Montana Avenue and Second Street an investigation of suspicious activity, which was related to a 7:56 p.m. report that a man tried to run over another man at a First Street West business.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

Dave Gerrit Bekker of Havre, 52, and Anita Marie Kellam of Chinook, 47, were each issued a summons on a charge of trespass to property after a call from BNSF Railway reported trespassers near county Road 860 Northwest Wednesday at 12:20 p.m.


Stacy Steinmetz Lanier of Havre, 47, was issued a summons on a shoplifting charge after a caller at a U.S. Highway 2 West business reported a theft Wednesday at 12:36 p.m.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical personnel responded to four calls Wednesday.


Firefighters and ambulance unit, along with a NorthWestern Energy crew, responded to a carbon monoxide alarm at 3:18 p.m. on the 1100 Block of McKinley Avenue. No carbon monoxide was detected so they recommended the CO detectors be replaced.

Havre Animal Shelter

The shelter this morning held two cats and one 14-week-old kitten all of unknown gender, four female cats, one male 8-month-old kitten and four male cats.


The shelter also held a female shepherd dog, a female 20-week-old mixed-breed puppy, two male and three female 11-week-old mix-breed puppies, a female 24-week-old mixed-breed puppy, a male border collie-Labrador retriever dog, a mixed breed male dog, a male 22-week-old shepherd puppy, a female 6-month-old mixed-breed puppy and a male 14-week-old shepherd puppy.
