As the state and this part of north-central Montana continue to see COVID-19 cases climb, Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation is again going into lockdown and Threat Level 4 status, shutting down Sunday at 6 p.m. and staying in lockdown until Sunday, Oct. 25 at 6 a.m.
All tribal departments under central services will be closed, but Rocky Boy Health Center and Gramma’s Market will not be closed to public access, a resolution passed by the Chippewa Cree Tribal Business Committee said.
The lockdown does not apply to first responders, incident command center personnel, health care personnel, security personnel, tribal court or law enforcement personnel and people identified as professional/essential staff, a resolution reads. All others will remain in their residences unless engaging in activities essential to health and safety such as obtaining medical supplies or medication, visiting health care professionals or obtaining critical supplies such as food or water.
Peopler also are required to wear face masks or coverings when out in public.
People who need medical supplies, food or water can contact the incident command center at 390-5783, 301-3739, 399-3739 or by email at [email protected].
People violating the lockdown may be subject to criminal prosecution or civil penalties and Rocky Boy police are authorized to enforce it, the resolution said.
