Havre Police Department

A caller reported a dead deer in the street Wednesday at 6:33 a.m. on U.S. Highway 2 East.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

John Melvin Birdtail of Havre, 28, was arrested on a state District Court warrant served at Hill County Detention Center Wednesday at 12:21 p.m.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical personnel responded to seven calls Wednesday.

Firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle possibly on fire on the 10 Block of First Street West Tuesday at 2:24 p.m. They discovered the last embers of fire from paper towels that had been left under the hood. Damage to the vehicle was minimal.

Firefighters responded to an alarm on the 1400 Block of First Avenue Wednesday at 5:01 p.m., but the alarm had been triggered while work was being done on the alarm.

Havre Animal Shelter

The shelter this morning held four cats, four 16-week-old kittens and a 26-week-old kitten all of unknown gender, a female cat, a male 8-month-old kitten, two male cats and a female 16-week-old kitten.

The shelter also held a female mixed-breed 26-week-old puppy, a female shepherd dog, a male mixed-breed 12-week-old puppy, a female 21-week-old mixed breed puppy, a female mixed-breed dog, a mixed-breed male dog, a male 24-week-old shepherd puppy, a female 7-month-old mixed-breed puppy and a male 16-week-old shepherd puppy.

Births

A girl was born Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020, to Lynette Cliff and Clayton Parker of Hays.
