Jaycees food drive running through Saturday

The Havre Jaycees canned food drive it is holding in place of its annual haunted house ends Saturday, the day of Halloween.

The Jaycees have an annual haunted house held above the Eagles Club as a fundraiser for the service organization’s activities, however, due to COVID-19 the event was cancelled this year.

The Jaycees accept nonperishable food item donations at the haunted house, which they turn over to the Havre Community Food Bank.

“People have been upset that we can’t do it, but nothing too much of a push back,” said Havre Jaycees Treasurer Carly Holmes.

She said that people understand the pandemic and it is not the only event that has been cancelled. “We still wanted to do something to donate to the food bank.”

They have decorated boxes at Old Station Brewery, Triple Dog Brewery, Havre Eagles Club, fivehead’s, Gram’s Ice Cream, and Crawford Distillery where people can make donations. All proceeds will be donated to Havre food bank.
