Letter to the Editor - Protect your right to privacy

Editor,

The right of individual privacy is essential to the well-being of a free society and shall not be infringed without the showing of a compelling state interest, these words are enshrined within the Montana constitution under Article II section 10.

Section 10 of Article II guarantees all Montanans the fundamental right to privacy and has been challenged throughout its inception as all good things are that benefit the public at large. This right to privacy currently encompasses but is not limited to the right to an abortion, right to phone privacy from employers who attempt to access your social media account and LGBTQ marriage is guaranteed.

While the right to privacy has withstood various challenges to its legitimacy that has not stopped recent attempts by some within the state and outside to challenge it once more. All the while to the detriment of Montana in their pursuit of special interests. If you enjoy your rights to privacy under the constitution in its current form, then vote this November to protect your right to privacy!
