Havre Police Department

A 9-year-old was issued a summons on an assault charge after a caller at Sunnyside Intermediate School asked officers Friday at 8:06 a.m. for assistance.

Someone stopped at the police station Friday at 3:27 p.m. to report a theft.

--

Steeven Andrew Avolad of Havre, 51, was arrested on charges of assault, two counts; vandalism; resisting arrest; obstructing a peace officer or other public servant; and disorderly conduct, after a caller on Third Street West reported a man being destructive and yelling at people Friday at 4:14 p.m.

Robert Joseph Sunchild of Havre, 40, was arrested on charges of assault and probation violation and on a Justice or City court warrant after dispatch received a suspicious 911 call from Ninth Avenue at 2:58 a.m. Friday.

Nicholas C. Donoven of Havre, 43, was arrested on a criminal contempt charge related to a 24/7 Sobriety Program violation reported at 7:57 a.m. Saturday.

A beer theft was reported Saturday at 2:36 p.m. at a First Street West business.

--

Sutherland Shoulderblade of Box Elder, 26, was arrested on a charge of endangering the welfare of children after a caller at the hospital asked officers Saturday at 11:18 p.m. to give someone a ride home.

Officers reported being in pursuit of someone in Havre at 12:40 p.m. No further information on charges was provided and no one had responded by print deadline to a request for information. But Brian Bell was listed in the jail roster this morning as being arrested Sunday on charges of fleeing or eluding, expired registration, driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license, driving without proof of vehicle insurance and criminal endangerment and on an FBI warrant.

A domestic disturbance was reported on McKinley Ave Sunday at 9:48 p.m.

Animal Control responded over the weekend to one call of a found cat, five dog-related calls and one call about a deer with a broken leg.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

Deputies were asked Friday at 4:34 p.m. to assist officers at a disturbance on Third Street West.

Deputies assisted in a pursuit in the Havre area Sunday at 12:41 p.m.

Shayla Dee Peters of Havre, 37, was arrested on charges of shoplifting, trespass to property, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia and on a Justice or City court warrant after a theft was reported at a U.S. Highway 2 West business Sunday at 7:42 p.m.

Deputies assisted at a structure fire reported on 31st Street North at 4:58 a.m. today.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical technicians responded to five calls Friday, seven calls Saturday and seven calls Sunday.

Firefighters responded to a grease fire at 4:13 a.m. Sunday on the 100 Block of First Street West, but the fire was out before arrival.

Firefighters responded to a report of a gas leak on the 300 Block of Second Street where the fire crew found a malfunctioning furnace. Responding NorthWestern Energy crew took the furnace out of service until it was repaired or replaced.

Firefighters responded to a fire in an outbuilding on the 900 Block of 31st Street North. The sheriff's office, which handles calls to Rural Fire District 1 did not have a complete report on the extent of damage or the cause of the fire.

Havre Animal Shelter

The shelter this morning held two cats of unknown gender, three female cats, four male cats and one female kitten, as well as five cats being held for the trap-neuter-release program.

The shelter also held six mixed-breed puppies of varying ages, a male and two female mixed-breed dogs, a female 22-week-old border collie puppy, a male Yorkshire terrier and a male German shepherd. Additionally, a male dog and a male 9-month-old puppy, both mixed-breed, were being fostered.
