People planning to head west on U.S. Highway 2 today will have to deal with some road closures.
Glacier County DES announced this morning the highway is closed from Mile Marker 209.1 to 221.7 between Browning and East Glacier and from Mile Marker 221.7 to 253.5 between Browning and Cut Bank.
The DES office said that at 7 a.m. the area had low clouds, was windy and milder with a little accumulation of snow late this afternoon. A chance of snow before 3 p.m., then a chance of rain and snow. Areas of blowing snow; windy, with a west- southwest wind 28 to 32 mph, with gusts as high as 48 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
It reported closures on Montana Highway 44 south of Browning as well.
