Letter to the Editor - It has been my pleasure serving at the museum

Dear editor,

It has been my pleasure and joy to serve the people of Hill County as the Clack Museum and Wahkpa Chu’gn Buffalo Jump manager for the past nearly five years. From greeting visitors at the museum and buffalo jump, to giving school group tours of the buffalo jump with Kelly and Judy Jones and Bev Kologi, giving presentations in the Faber Schoolhouse (mostly in the heat during the Great Northern Fair!), writing some columns to introduce residents to the wonderful treasures in the Clack Museum’s collections and helping with the colossal move to our new location, being at both historic sites was rewarding.

With a new opportunity presented to me, I will continue my calling in life of local history, historic preservation, tourism, our traditions and our heritage, so I will still be involved in these subjects in new and exciting ways. Of course, the Clack Museum and Wahkpa Chu’gn Buffalo Jump will be included, as well as our other historic visitor sites, where and when I can include them. We have very interesting history here, and it needs to be shared, treasured, preserved and protected.

Warmest wishes,

Emily Mayer
