Butte took home first place to win state
This past weekend at the Havre Ice Dome, the 14U Bantams State Hockey Tournament took place. At the end of the weekend, Butte took home first with an 8-3 win over Glasgow in the championship game Sunday. The Havre Ice Hawks finished fourth in the tournament with a 5-3 loss to Great Falls in the third-place game Sunday morning.
The tournament started all the way back Thursday. Havre started the tournament strong with an 8-0 win over the Flathead Fusion. Also Thursday, Butte defeated Flathead, 12-0, and Great Falls won, 13-3, against Helena. Glasgow then picked up a 5-2 win over Billings. The day ended with Miles City defeating Helena, 6-3, and Bozeman defeating Billings 9-2.
The tournament continued Friday with several more games. The day started with Havre suffering a 5-1 loss to Butte. Great Falls then defeated Miles City, 8-1, and Glasgow defeated Bozeman 9-1.
Later on Friday, Great Falls defeated Flathead, 5-0, and Butte defeated Billings 8-1. The day ended with Glasgow winning, 15-0, against Helena.
The tournament held most of its games Saturday. The day started with Great Falls winning, 9-1, against Bozeman and Butte winning, 6-1, against Miles City. Havre continued its weekend with a 7-3 loss to Glasgow.
The tournament continued with Bozeman defeating Flathead, 5-0, and Billings picking up a 2-0 win over Miles City. Havre rebounded later on Saturday with an 8-3 win over Helena. The day then ended with Glasgow defeating Great Falls, 6-5, to advance to the championship game.
