Havre girls well represented on All-State team

After winning another Class A State championship this past season, players from the Havre High girls basketball team have now been recognized for their stellar seasons. This week, the Northeast A All-Conference girls basketball team was released and the Blue Ponies were well represented.

Four Ponies were named All-State for their performances this past season. In their final year for the Ponies, Yelena Miller and Avery Carlson earned All-State honors as they capped off their careers with a third straight state title. As they got bigger roles on the Ponies this season, Amaya Jarvis and Ariana Gary also earned All-State honors.

Since they were All-State players, all four of these Ponies made Northeast A First Team All-Conference. The only player not from Havre on the team is Jillian Kanduch, who represents Miles City.

No Ponies were named Northeast A Second Team All-Conference. On that team, Kiya Foran and Aniya Ross represented Lewistown. The rest of the team is made up of Savannah Anderson from Sidney, Codi Nagle from Glendive and Laney Smith from Miles City.

From Havre, Sierra and Tierra Parker were both named Northeast A Honorable Mention All-Conference. The rest of that team is made up of Lexi Burnham from Lewistown, Leah Entz from Sidney and Mallory Robinson from Glendive.

While the Ponies will lose the likes of Carlson and Miller to graduation, they will see the return of Gary, Jarvis and both Parkers next season. With talent like that returning, the Ponies should be in contention for a fourth straight title.
