Grief Poem - Time Passes By

Time passes by, sometimes it's slow, sometimes it's pretty fast.

Being alone is not much fun, we know this 'time' won't last.

You've only gone ahead of us -you're not left us behind;

Although we can't be with you now, you're in our heart and mind.

Your leaving left a sadness here, tears continue to fall.

You took my happiness with you -happiest time of all.

Your memory is a loving thing, it lasts the longest day.

It can't be spent or even lent, nor ever taken away.

Till memories fail and life departs, you're always in our hearts.

To join again with one we've loved, is somewhere on God's charts.

First 'phase' will leave, heart aches vanish, partings will be no more,

To join again with one I loved, will be on distant shore.

Someday, sometime, for sure we'll see the face we loved so well,

Someday again, we'll clasp your hand and never say farewell.

Your valor was beyond the moon, whatever things we'd face,

Enduring each and every storm, with courage and with grace.

Some said that time will ease our pain; days flew by - but grief's still here!

You're missed, dear one, so very much, but someday, you'll appear.

Eternity's in all our hearts(1), which only God can mend.

Can't fathom what our Lord has done, from beginning to the end.

We'll meet again, but don't know when, 'twill be some Sunny day.

Keep smiling, dear, that's what you did, blue skies drive clouds away.
