Grief Poem - Seasons Change

Seasons do change and so do we, as we walk the Grief Route.

We shuffle on but this we know; we're loved without a doubt.

"Time" marches on, we miss our mate, no matter 'time' of year;

What "e'er" his work, he did his best - to us he was most dear.

Grief knows no time - we're all unique, covered by God's great care.

Our hearts feel broke, but God is near, He's close as a quick prayer.

We're born to die; we'll go back "home," as soon as You, Lord, call.

We're here to work but when time's up, we'll skip o'er earthly wall.

Death dates sneak up, we get a shock, knocks wind right out of us!

A picture near brings on a tear, our heart does ache; now hush!

Be it a week, a month, few years, our heart still has a hole.

We need a hug, a listening ear, or friend to sooth, console.

Or - we can be that friend, dear Lord, to raise someone's spirits,

A smile, phone call, or ask, You, Lord, 'cause right now we're misfits.

Fall, Winter, Spring or Summer time, our heartache's always near.

A thought, a smell, a sound, a voice, can always bring a tear.

Enduring(1) love, which our hearts crave, helps "weather" any "storm."

Unfailing love from You, dear Lord, will never be lukewarm.

Someday we'll see our dear loved ones, they're safe with God above!

Seasons do change; so, when it's "time," we'll fly back "home" with LOVE.

We'll carry on the whole day long, for "seasons" do pass by!

One day we too will be called home, we'll soar beyond the "sky!"
