Ron was born June 1, 1931, in Chinook to Oliver and Marie (Rothe) Schubert. He was raised in Chinook and worked on ranches during the summer starting at the tender age of 11 years old. He always said his favorite thing to do in his spare time was to ride his horse to the creek and fish. He also worked for his dad at Oliver Schubert Construction as a teenager and for a few years after high school.

For several years, Ron served in the Army National Guard.

In January of 1952, Ron married the love of his life, his sweetheart, Myrtle Elliott. They made their home in Chinook for several years before moving to Havre in 1960.  There, they raised their children and Ron partnered with his brother Jack (Gerald) running Schubert Bros. Construction until their retirement in 1994. After retirement, Ron and Jack spent a lot of their time taking care of their rentals.

Ron enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and camping with his family at Beaver Creek. Ron and Myrt spent many summers fishing at Duck Lake along with family and friends. Later in life, Myrt and Ron spent their winters in Yuma, AZ, with those they were close to.

Ron and Myrt were charter members of Messiah Lutheran Church. Ron was a longtime member of the Havre Eagles. He loved to work in his shop making various items for friends and family. He was a very kind man with a big heart who adored his family and spent as much time with them as he could. He really enjoyed the Fourth of July Schubert family reunions. Ron and Myrt would take car trips with family and friends, which they both thoroughly enjoyed.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Myrt Schubert; parents, Oliver and Marie Schubert; brothers Alan, Jack, and Larry Schubert; and sisters Mary Lou Tilleman and Shirley Tams; and many other in-laws and family members.

Ron is survived by his children, Gary (Carol) and Bob (Joni) Schubert, all of Havre, and Linda (Dave) Haider of Chinook; five grandchildren, Chad Schubert, Trista Schubert-Hollern, Justin and Jason Haider, and Kaylee Shirtliff; eight great-grandchildren, Cash, Kali and Kamryn Schubert, Carson, Kendyl and Carter Hollern, Tucker Crawford and Huxtyn Haider; siblings Cliff (Norma) Schubert of Covina, CA, Gordon (Marj) Schubert of Great Falls, Ken (Evelyn) Schubert of Chinook, Penny (Henry) Hofeldt of Columbia Falls, and Debbie Moes of Lewistown; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many friends.
