Eight HHS track athletes earn All-State honors

This past spring, the Havre High track and field teams had a solid season. At the Class A-C State Track Meet to end the season in late May, both the HHS boys and girls teams finished eighth in their meets. Because of their efforts at the state meet, several Blue Ponies earned All-State honors.

Caleb Tomac earned All-State honors after he took first in the 800-meter dash with a time of 1:58.54. He also took third in the 3,200-meter dash with a time of 9:48.76 and he took fourth in the 1,600-meter dash with a time of 4:28.52 at state. Senior Brody Henry earned All-State honors after he took fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:00.77 at the state meet.

Many Ponies from the HHS girls track and field team also earned All-State honors for their performance at the state meet. Kyanna Jarvis earned All-State honors as she took third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.21 and she placed fifth in the high jump with a measurement of 5-00.

Kaydance Reiter earned All-State honors as she took fifth in the 200-meter sprint with a time of 26.40. Macee May also earned All-State honors as she took third in the long jump with a measurement of 16-10.75 at the state meet.

Jarvis, Reiter, Macy Brandon and Carolyn Thomas all earned All-State honors as a team for taking third in the 400 relay with a time of 50.16 at state. The team of Reiter, Brandon, Kyanna Jarvis and Amaya Jarvis earned All-State honors in the 1,600 relay with a fourth-place finish with a time of 4:09.83.

The HHS track and field teams are young with many athletes returning for next season. With athletes such as Tomac, Reiter, May, Brandon, Thomas, Kyanna Jarvis and Amaya Jarvis returning, the Ponies should continue to improve as a program in Eastern A and Class A track and field.
