Local Golf Report: Golf pushes through heat

The golf season, and heat continues on.

League golf at both Prairie Farms Golf Course and Beaver Creek Golf Course continues.

In men’s league at Prairie Farms last Tuesday, Jeremy Jensen fired a 1-under 35 to take low gross, while Willard Fladager was low net with a 33.5. Hole 19 was high team with 21 points. Last Wednesday saw Jensen again go low, with a 2-under 34. Great week Jeremy! Tom Adams and my boy Tommy Brown each netted 32. Way to go Tommy B! You’re starting to get some golf dawg in you. Oxford Bar was high team with 21 points. Patsy Divish, Shari Baltrusch, Shelbi Darlington and Karla Bolken made up the team. Tammy Boles shot 42 for low gross and Alicia Goodrich, Mary Pizzini and Katie Heath shared low net at 34.

In women’s league last Thursday night, D.A. Davidson was high team with 23 points.

Well, it’s already that time. It’s the final major of the year already, and my Sports Bet has taken a beating so far on the majors. I picked Max Homa for The Masters, Scottie Scheffler at the PGA and Brooks Koepka for the U.S. Open, and none of them came through. So, it’s now Open Championship Week, and as we all know, anything can happen across the pond. So, this one’s a tough call. But, essentially, I’m going chalk again. It’s time for Rory to win another major. It’s been over nine years, and a bunch of near-misses. So, at Royal Liverpool, he’s going to carve it up, just like his best buddy Tiger did back in 2005 when he won by five shots. So I’m taking Rory. Who ya got?
