From the Courts - Federal Court: Man sentenced for meth trafficking on Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation

U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Montana

GREAT FALLS  — A Colorado man who admitted to trafficking methamphetamine on Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation was sentenced to 10 years in prison, to be followed by 10 years of supervised release, U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich said.

Moises Zamora, 37, of Denver, Colorado, pleaded guilty in August 2022 to possession with intent to distribute meth.

Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris presided at Monday’s hearing.

The government alleged in court documents that in September 2021, near Box Elder, on Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation, law enforcement arrested Zamora and recovered meth from his pocket and his truck. The meth was meant for distribution to others.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Timothy J. Racicot and Ryan G. Weldon prosecuted the case. The FBI conducted the investigation.
