Havre football to host Hardin in season opener

The time has finally arrived for the Havre High football team. After several weeks of preparation, the Blue Ponies will kick off the season tonight in the friendly confines of Blue Pony Stadium. The Ponies will face the Hardin Bulldogs to start the season, so they will be looking to get off on the right foot this fall.

The Hardin Bulldogs will be a familiar opponent to start the season. Last year on the road, the Ponies defeated Hardin, 35-0, so they will be looking to play well again in this year's matchup. Last season, the Hardin Bulldogs went 1-8, so they will be looking to improve themselves.

As Havre goes for the win tonight, its best players will look to have strong outings against Hardin. The HHS defense will be led by Jacob Herring at outside linebacker while Carson Harris and Colter Solomon will shore up the secondary.

Tommy Lewis and Brandon Healy should also get some playing time on the line tonight. The Ponies' best players on offense will look to put up points tonight. In the backfield, Brisbin Reiter and Tate Nelson will lead the Havre rushing attack.

Last year, the Ponies went 6-4 and qualified for the postseason in their first year under head coach Jake Eldridge. As they head into this fall, the Ponies will be looking to improve and climb the ladder in Class A football in the state of Montana.

The HHS football team will play Hardin tonight at Blue Pony Stadium at 6 p.m.
