Local Golf Report: Pony girls win in Sidney

The 2023 summer golf season is fully winding down now.

Congrats to the Prairie Farms Men's League champions for 2023, Tire Rama. The team this year consisted of Jeremy and Jeff Jensen, C.J. and Lunar Evans, Roger Antisel and John Olzewski. Tire Rama won the championship match of playoffs 39-33.

Great season of golf leaguer at Prairie Farms. Hoping to have Beaver Creek Golf Course playoff results next week.

The Jamie Young Memorial Foundation Golf Tournament (JYMF) took place at Prairie Farms on Aug. 26.  There were 21 participating teams.  It was a cash payout, as she loved cash tournaments.  The money raised goes towards one non profit organization each year, last year was the Friends of Havre Animal Shelter, this year it goes to the Bear Paw Ski Bowl.  Also, they donated to Sletten for gas cards, coffee vouchers for the care takers, and hair cuts/wig style at REflecitons with Kari Golie.

First place went to Jordan Brough, Shane Kemmer, Jeff Ralph and Rob The Boy  Score Net:  47.685. Second place went to Kevin Golder, Tyler Oltoff, Casey Kinyon and Josh Habets    Score Net:  47.87. Third place was CJ Caven, Dean Gordon, Joe Stickel and Jerry Kuhn   Score Net: 48.52.

Great job everybody!

Speaking of winding down, the Havre High golf teams are heading towards the end of their season. I want to say congrats to the Blue Pony girls who won the Sidney Invitational last Friday. Shea Weber, Brenna Hanson, Tierra Parker, Cali Pyrak and Callie Bebee made up the team, which also finished second last Thursday at the Glendive Invite. The Blue Pony boys also finished second in Glendive last Thursday with Matt Huse taking second with an 82. The Ponies finish the regular season with Thursday's Billings Central Invite and Friday's Laurel Invite.

Meanwhile, the MSU-Northern golf teams are at the season-opening Argo Invitational this week. Hopefully, we'll have results next week.

We will have two more From Tee to Green's for the season. If you want anything included in the last two weeks, please e-mail me at [email protected].
